Introduction To The Course
What Does Our PASMA Training Cover?
Our PASMA training supports safe, competent use of mobile access towers and is designed for Cardiff-based operatives responsible for assembling, altering, inspecting, moving, and dismantling tower scaffolds on commercial and industrial sites. PASMA training is widely recognised as the industry standard for safe use of tower scaffolds.
The course covers the current best practice for working at height and focuses on the correct use of Through The Trap (3T) and Advanced Guardrail (AGR) methods, ensuring fall protection is maintained throughout assembly and use.
Successful completion demonstrates competence in line with PASMA guidance and supports compliance with health and safety legislation across construction and commercial sites.

Before attending our PASMA training, delegates must download the PASMA TowerSure app, which is used throughout the course and provides access to their digital PASMA PhotoCard upon successful completion.
Full joining instructions and a download link will be sent in your booking confirmation. Please ensure the app is installed before attending to avoid delays on the day.
It’s important to note that delegates should also have a basic understanding of written and spoken English and be physically capable of working safely at height.
The PASMA Towers for Users course is delivered over one full day and includes both classroom-based learning and practical training. The syllabus typically covers:
- Legislation, regulations, and guidance for working at height
- PASMA Code of Practice
- Product standards EN 1004
- Safe assembly, alteration, and dismantling of mobile access towers
- Use of the 3T and Advanced Guardrail methods
- Inspection of completed tower scaffolds
- Completion of tower inspection records
- Hazards associated with tower scaffold use and how to avoid them
The assessment includes both theoretical and practical elements to ensure delegates can confidently apply what they’ve learned. A minimum pass mark of 80% is required to successfully complete the PASMA course and receive certification.
On successful completion, delegates are issued a PASMA Towers for Users PhotoCard, valid for five years.
PASMA training courses for Cardiff delegates run regularly at our dedicated indoor training facility in Blackwood, which is typically less than 30 minutes from Cardiff via the A470. The centre is purpose-built for working-at-height training, providing controlled conditions for both theory sessions and practical tower scaffold assembly.
Many Cardiff-based contractors, maintenance teams, and facilities managers choose to train here due to the professional setup and consistent training environment.
For employers and larger teams, we can also deliver PASMA training on-site at suitable Cardiff premises, subject to equipment availability and site conditions. Please contact our team to discuss your requirements.
PASMA qualifications are valid for five years. To maintain certification, operators must complete a PASMA refresher course before their PhotoCard expires to confirm continued competence.
This PASMA course is approved for CITB Levy funding. As a CITB Approved Training Organisation, we can assist Cardiff employers and individuals with guidance on available grants and the claims process.
