Introduction To The Course
What Does Our Telescopic Materials Handler Cover?
Telescopic Materials Handlers (often referred to as a Telehandler or Manitou) are commonly found across the country in a wide variety of construction, industrial and warehouse settings.
They are typically diesel powered and can be fitted with a variety of attachments, most commonly forks and buckets. Telehandlers come in a variety of shapes and sizes, from smaller more nimble machines to those that can lift in excess of 5 tonne beyond 10 metres high.
Our Telescopic Materials Handler Training Courses will give you the necessary skills to operate the machine both safely and efficiently, complete a pre-use inspection and discuss the causes of instability of trucks and their loads.
Courses can be completed from our training centre in South Wales, or your customer premises. Qualifications can be awarded to RTITB or NPORS standard, or a non-accredited in-house standard if preferred.
Telescopic Handlers are officially categorised as ABA Groups J1, J2 & J3, dependant on lift height. At Heads of the Valleys Training, we offer forklift training for all machine types.
