Introduction To The Course

What Does Our NPORS Cable Avoidance Tools Cover?

A CAT (Cable Avoidance Tool) and Genny (Signal Generator) are the two pieces of equipment every operator needs before breaking ground. Used together, they detect and locate buried cables, pipes and underground utilities, which help to prevent strikes that can injure workers, cut off services and result in costly repairs.

Our 1-day CAT & Genny course is built for anyone working near underground services, including civil engineers, electricians, surveyors, plumbers and groundworkers. After completion, you’ll leave with a nationally recognised NPORS qualification, the practical skills to operate the equipment confidently on site, and the knowledge to protect yourself and your team on every job.

Our Cat and Genny training is accredited to the NPORS standard (N304), but we also offer an in-house certification option.
