Telescopic Materials Handler
The Telescopic Handler is a machine becoming increasingly popular in several industries. It can often be seen on both industrial sites and in large yards, and is favoured because of its wide array of attachment options.
We offer the Telescopic Handler course to the following standards:
Ideal for industrial use, the RTITB standard will allow operators to use the licence in workplaces such as warehousing, builders merchants, within local authority and recycling. Once completed, the license requires operators to complete a one day refresher course every three years, in order to maintain and keep their license valid. Upon completion, the operator will receive a certificate and photo card license, issued by RTITB.
Those who have not previously held a licence will need to complete a five day novice course. Those who have previously used, or have some experience using, a Telescopic Handler can complete a reduced experience operator course. This includes those who have previously held an ‘in-house’ licence, not certified to a recognised awarding body.
City & Guilds (NPTC) Standard
More suited to agricultural, horticultural and forestry use, the City & Guilds (NPTC) standard varies dependent on previous experience. Candidates will need to be familiar with operations, basic maintenance and defect checks, safe operating procedure, Health & Safety requirements (i.e. LOLER, PUWER) and risk assessments prior to testing.
Although there is no set number of days or training hours that will need to be completed, the operator must be competent prior to assessment. We recommend you get in touch to discuss any previous experience you may have – we can then advise the number of days we feel you would need.
