Chainsaw (CS30 & CS31)
We offer Chainsaw qualifications to both experienced and novice operators, and is awarded to City & Guilds (NPTC) standard.
More suited to agricultural, horticultural, general maintenance and forestry use, the City & Guilds (NPTC) standard varies dependent on previous experience. Candidates will need to be familiar with operations, basic maintenance and defect checks, safe operating procedure, Health & Safety requirements (i.e. LOLER, PUWER) and risk assessments prior to testing.
Chainsaw Maintenance & Felling Small Trees Course
This course is combined of both CS30 Chainsaw Maintenance & CS31 Felling Small Trees. By completing and passing this course, candidates will be able to fell trees commercially up to 380mm in diameter.
Both modules will completed at the same time, over five full days. The first day is workshop based, covering areas such as legislation, risk assessments, chainsaw maintenance & sharpening. The final four days are comprised of practical training in the forestry. Candidates will be shown how to complete basic to more intricate fells. At the end of the course, candidates will be assessed in relation to the City & Guilds (NPTC) criteria.
We have previously delivered this qualification for local authorities, environment agency, general maintenance firms and housing associations.
